By Jeffrey S. Rothenberg, Chief Development Officer and Executive Director of Development, University Libraries, UMass Amherst Foundation
At this pivotal moment, when core principles of objective truth and reliable information are challenged as never before, the mission of our University Libraries is more vital than ever.

Our Libraries collect and safeguard accumulated human knowledge and make that knowledge open and accessible to the public.
With more than 8 million print and digital items in its care, the UMass Amherst Libraries—with the critical support of our donors—form the largest publicly funded academic research library system in New England, serving UMass students and researchers, surrounding communities, and the entire Commonwealth.
We are grateful for the thousands of donors who choose to support UMass Amherst in general, and the University Libraries in particular. Although the Libraries receive a portion of our funding from public resources, that funding alone cannot sustain all of our important mission objectives.
Whether you choose to give annually, make a multi-year pledge, send appreciated stock or a qualified charitable distribution from a retirement account, honor the Libraries through an estate or legacy gift, or support our mission through another method of giving, we thank you sincerely for making UMass Amherst a charitable priority. You make a difference.

Please email jrothenberg@uma-foundation.org if you would like to discuss giving to the UMass Amherst Libraries. Go UMass!
